Unemployment, choice of techniques and growth in Africa
This urban unemployment is a result of rural - urban migration. This migration is voluntary or an escape from rural poverty. The question that is worth asking whether we are to take a person in an urban area seeking a wage job and unable to find it as belonging to the sector of the unemployed. We have to keep in mind that such a person might have well been employed on the land in areas that do not suffer from land shortage if it was not for his phobia for land job.
